Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Wearly Technologies Inc. (“Wearly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Sceneit mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are
Wearly Technologies Inc.
Email: bautista@wearlyapp.com
Website: https://sceneit.app
Wearly Technologies Inc. is a company incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States.
Sceneit is available worldwide, subject to applicable laws and platform availability.
2. Information We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of information.
A. Account and Profile Information
When you create and use a Sceneit account, we collect:
- Username: Used to identify your account within Sceneit and allow other users to find you when sending watchlist invitations.
- Name: Used for account identification, display purposes, and watchlist collaboration.
- Email address: Used for authentication, account management, and support.
- Profile photo (optional): An image you choose to add in Edit Profile, shown to you and to other users wherever your username or name appears, such as when they search for people to invite and in shared watchlists.
- Country: Selected by you and used to display streaming availability relevant to your country.
- Selected streaming services: Used to highlight movies and television shows available through the streaming services you select.
This information is stored and processed as part of your Sceneit account.
Profile photos are stored and delivered by Clerk, our authentication provider. Sceneit's backend stores the address of your current photo so that other users' apps can show it. When the app shows a profile photo, the image is loaded directly from Clerk's image servers, which may receive technical request information, including your device's IP address. You can change or remove your photo at any time in Edit Profile.
Other users may see your username, display name, and profile photo (if you add one) when searching for people to invite to watchlists.
Through the application's interface, your email address, selected country, and streaming-service preferences are not intended to be displayed to other users.
B. Account and Authentication Information
Sceneit uses Clerk to provide authentication and account-management functionality.
Users can authenticate using:
- Sign in with Apple.
- An email address and password.
If you sign in with an email address, Clerk stores your password in a protected (hashed) form and may email you one-time codes, for example to verify your email address, reset your password, or confirm a sign-in from a new device.
Clerk processes information necessary to create, secure, maintain, and authenticate your account.
Depending on your authentication method, this may include:
- Your email address and account identity.
- Authentication credentials or linked identity-provider information.
- Session information.
- IP address.
- Device and browser information.
- Approximate location derived from network information.
- Authentication and security activity.
If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, the email address associated with your account may be an Apple-generated private relay address.
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may independently process authentication-related information in accordance with its privacy policy. If we offer other sign-in providers in the future, such as Sign in with Google, those providers may likewise process authentication-related information under their own privacy policies.
C. User Content and Viewing Activity
Sceneit allows users to record, organize, and manage their movie and television viewing activity.
We collect and store information you provide through these features, including:
Diary Entries
- Movies and television shows you have watched.
- The dates on which you watched them.
- Ratings you assign, on a scale from 1 to 10.
- Optional written reviews.
- Television seasons and episodes associated with your entries.
Favorites
- Movies and television shows you add to your favorites.
Other Activity
- Changes or updates you make to your diary entries.
- Changes to your favorites and watchlists.
- Related account activity necessary to provide these features.
This information is used to maintain your personal viewing history, ratings, and collections.
Your diary entries, ratings, reviews, viewing dates, and favorites are intended for your personal use and are not displayed to other users through Sceneit's interface.
Sceneit does not currently offer public user profiles or public reviews.
D. Watchlists and Sharing
Sceneit allows users to create watchlists and share them with other users through invitations.
We collect and store:
- Watchlist names and descriptions.
- Movies and television shows added to watchlists.
- Watchlist ownership information.
- Collaborators associated with shared watchlists.
- Invitations sent to or received from other users.
- Information identifying which collaborator added a title.
- Changes made to watchlists.
Sceneit does not currently offer public watchlists.
Through the application's interface, watchlists are intended to be accessible to their owners and invited collaborators.
When you participate in a shared watchlist, other members may see:
- Your username or display name, and your profile photo.
- Your membership in the watchlist.
- Titles you add.
- Your name associated with titles you added.
E. Home Screen Widget Data
Sceneit offers Home Screen widgets that display information from your watchlists or favorites.
To provide this functionality, Sceneit stores limited information locally on your device, including:
- Movie and television titles displayed by the widget.
- Artwork associated with those titles.
This information is stored on your device to support widget functionality.
Sceneit removes this locally stored widget information when you sign out of your account or delete your account.
The underlying watchlist and favorites data associated with your account is stored in Sceneit's backend.
Sceneit may also maintain local caches of movie and television catalog information.
These catalog caches may remain on your device after sign-out or account deletion. They contain movie and television information rather than your personal diary entries, account records, or watchlists.
F. Legal Agreement Acceptance Records
Sceneit records your acceptance of its Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Acceptance records document:
- Your Sceneit account ID.
- Your email address.
- The version of the Terms of Use accepted.
- The version of the Privacy Policy accepted.
- The date and time of acceptance.
While your account remains active, acceptance records may also be associated with your name and username.
When you delete your Sceneit account:
- Your name and username are removed from the acceptance records.
- Your email address and account ID are retained.
- The accepted document versions and acceptance timestamps are retained.
- The date and time of account deletion are recorded.
- The acceptance records are marked as belonging to a deleted account.
These records are retained for six years after account deletion.
We retain them based on our legitimate interests in documenting your acceptance of the applicable agreements and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims, subject to applicable law.
A daily automated process removes acceptance records after the retention period expires.
G. Technical and Service Operation Information
Sceneit uses Convex as its backend and database infrastructure and Clerk for authentication.
These providers process technical information necessary to operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
Sceneit Application Logs
Sceneit's backend records application error messages, including errors associated with unsuccessful third-party API requests or rejected webhooks.
Sceneit does not intentionally record users' IP addresses or personal account information in its application error logs.
Sceneit does not use dedicated analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Convex
Convex provides Sceneit's backend infrastructure and database services.
Convex may maintain technical and operational logs associated with function execution and infrastructure operation.
Its dashboard provides a rolling history of recent function executions and associated logs. The number of retained executions and the applicable retention period may vary.
Convex may also maintain infrastructure logs according to its internal operational policies.
Clerk
Clerk processes authentication and session information, which may include:
- IP addresses.
- Device and browser information.
- Approximate location.
- Authentication events.
- Account and session activity.
Clerk's activity-log retention varies depending on the applicable service plan.
Additional information about data retention is provided in Section 7.
H. Third-Party Movie and Television Information
Sceneit obtains movie and television information from third-party providers.
The Movie Database (TMDB)
Sceneit uses the TMDB API to retrieve movie and television information.
API requests are made from Sceneit's servers through Convex and may include:
- Movie or television title identifiers.
- Search terms entered by users.
Sceneit does not send users' account information to TMDB through these API requests.
Artwork Requests
Movie and television artwork, including posters, may be loaded directly from TMDB's image servers.
When your device requests an image, the image server may receive technical information associated with that request, including your IP address and information identifying the requested image.
Sceneit does not include your account information in these image requests.
JustWatch
Streaming availability information is obtained from JustWatch through TMDB.
Sceneit uses this information to display where movies and television shows may be available.
Open Movie Database (OMDb)
Sceneit uses OMDb to retrieve ratings from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic.
Requests are made from Sceneit's servers through Convex using information identifying the relevant movie or television title.
Sceneit does not send users' account information to OMDb.
Wikidata
Sceneit may also retrieve supplementary movie or television information from Wikidata through its Convex backend.
These requests are made from Sceneit's servers rather than directly from users' devices.
I. Affiliate Links and External Offers
Sceneit may contain links or offers for third-party products or services, including affiliate links.
Sceneit may recommend VPN services when a movie or television show is available through one of your selected streaming services in another country.
These recommendations may be marked “Sponsored” and include a disclosure that Sceneit may earn a commission.
Sceneit currently uses fixed affiliate URLs containing Sceneit's affiliate identifier.
These links open in Safari.
Sceneit does not provide VPN affiliate partners with your:
- Name.
- Email address.
- Username.
- Account ID.
- Diary entries.
- Watchlists.
- Streaming-service preferences.
Affiliate partners may provide Sceneit with referral or commission-related information.
If you visit a third-party site or service through an affiliate link:

- The third party may use cookies or similar technologies.
- Sceneit does not control the third party's independent data collection or processing practices.
Sceneit does not use dedicated affiliate tracking, advertising, or analytics SDKs.
J. Optional Future Features
We may introduce optional features in the future, such as:
- Expanded social settings.
- Followers or friends.
- Additional sharing and community features.
If and when such features become available, we may collect and process information that you choose to provide through those features.
We will update this Privacy Policy and any required platform disclosures when future features materially change our data collection or processing practices.
K. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Based on the current version of Sceneit:
- We do not collect payment card information through in-app purchases.
- We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation data.
- We do not collect health data.
- We do not use dedicated analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not use push notifications.

B. Information Shared with Other Users
Sceneit allows users to share watchlists through invitations.
Through Sceneit's interface, other users may see your username, display name, and profile photo when searching for users to invite.
When you participate in a shared watchlist, its members may see:
- Your username or display name, and your profile photo.
- Your participation in the watchlist.
- Titles you add to the watchlist.
- Your contributor name associated with those titles.
Sceneit's interface does not display your personal diary entries, ratings, written reviews, viewing dates, or favorites to other users.
Sceneit does not currently offer public watchlists or public profile pages.
C. Third-Party Content Providers
Sceneit uses third-party providers to retrieve movie and television information.
TMDB
Our servers request information from TMDB using title identifiers and user-entered search terms.
We do not provide TMDB with users' Sceneit account information through these API requests.
When artwork is loaded directly from TMDB's image servers, TMDB may independently receive technical request information, including the requesting device's IP address.
OMDb
Our servers request title-related information from OMDb to retrieve ratings.
We do not provide OMDb with users' Sceneit account information.
Wikidata
Requests to Wikidata are routed through Sceneit's backend rather than directly from users' devices.
D. YouTube API Services and Google
Sceneit uses YouTube API Services to display movie and television trailers through YouTube's embedded video player.
The app loads YouTube's standard embedded player inside the app, and trailers play in iOS's own full-screen video player.
When the trailer player loads or you play a trailer, YouTube or Google may receive technical information associated with the request, including:
- Your IP address.
- Device and browser information.
- Information identifying the trailer being loaded or played.
- Other technical information associated with video playback.
YouTube or Google may also use cookies or similar technologies when the embedded player is loaded or used.
Depending on Google's services and your device or browser configuration, YouTube may display advertising or process information according to Google's own privacy practices.
Sceneit does not control Google's independent processing of information through these services.
Sceneit does not send your Sceneit username, email address, diary entries, ratings, favorites, or watchlists to YouTube as part of the trailer playback integration.
For more information about Google's privacy practices, please review the Google Privacy Policy:
http://www.google.com/policies/privacy
Sceneit's use of the YouTube embedded player is separate from its own account authentication and database infrastructure.
E. Affiliate and Third-Party Partners
Sceneit may receive referral or commission-related information from its affiliate partners.
Sceneit currently uses fixed VPN affiliate URLs that contain Sceneit's affiliate identifier.
Sceneit does not send users' account information or personal viewing history to VPN affiliate partners through those links.
When you open an affiliate link, the destination website may independently collect information under its own privacy policy.
F. Legal and Safety Disclosures
We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of users, Wearly, or others.
G. Business Transfers
We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following:
Performance of a Contract
To create and manage accounts, maintain watchlists, diary entries, favorites, and other features necessary to provide Sceneit.
Legitimate Interests
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and protect our legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights.
We also rely on our legitimate interests to retain limited records of users' acceptance of our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy after account deletion.
These records are maintained for the purpose of documenting acceptance and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation applies, the relevant legal basis is Article 6(1)(f), subject to its requirements and limitations.
Retention or refusal of deletion requests for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims may also be permitted under applicable law, including Article 17(3)(e) of the GDPR.
The availability of these grounds is assessed according to the applicable circumstances and does not mean that all requests for deletion or objection will automatically be refused.
Compliance with Legal Obligations
To satisfy obligations imposed by applicable law.
Consent
Where consent is required for particular processing activities.
6. International Data Transfers
Sceneit is available worldwide, and information may be processed in the United States and other places where we or our service providers operate.
Those jurisdictions may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
Where required by applicable law, we seek to implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the Service.
- Maintain your account.
- Preserve service functionality.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Resolve disputes.
- Enforce our agreements.
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service.
A. Account and User Content
Your account information, diary entries, ratings, reviews, favorites, watchlists, and other associated data are retained while your account remains active, unless deleted earlier through the functionality provided by Sceneit.
When you delete your account, this information is deleted from Sceneit's active application records, subject to the exceptions and shared-watchlist behavior described in Section 8.
B. Legal Acceptance Records
Sceneit retains records documenting your acceptance of its Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
After account deletion, these records contain:
- Email address.
- Sceneit account ID.
- Accepted Terms of Use version.
- Accepted Privacy Policy version.
- Acceptance date and time.
- Account deletion date and time.
Your name and username are removed from these records upon account deletion.
The remaining records are retained for six years after account deletion.
The purpose of this retention is to document your acceptance of the applicable agreements and preserve evidence that may be necessary for establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
The records are retained based on our legitimate interests, subject to applicable law.
A daily automated process deletes records once the six-year retention period expires.
C. Authentication Information
When you delete your Sceneit account, Sceneit also deletes the corresponding Clerk user account.
Clerk may separately retain limited operational, security, or backup information in accordance with its applicable retention practices and legal obligations.
The retention period for information remaining in Clerk's internal backups or operational systems following the deletion of an individual user account may depend on Clerk's applicable policies.
D. Convex Backups
Convex may retain backup copies of application data when backup functionality is enabled.
Under Convex's documented backup-retention practices:
- Manual backups are retained for up to seven days.
- Daily backups are retained for up to seven days.
- Weekly backups are retained for up to fourteen days.
Deleted information may temporarily remain in backups until the applicable backup expires.
These backup periods apply when the corresponding backup features are enabled.
E. Technical and Security Logs
Technical and security logs may be retained by Clerk and Convex according to their respective operational policies.
Clerk's authentication activity-log retention depends on the service plan.
Convex maintains recent function logs and may retain additional infrastructure information according to its internal policies.
Sceneit does not intentionally store personal account information or IP addresses in its application error logs.
F. Locally Stored Information
Home Screen widget data is removed from your device when you sign out or delete your account.
General movie and television catalog caches may remain on the device after sign-out or account deletion because they are not part of your personal viewing history or account information.
G. Aggregated Information
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
8. Account Deletion and Deletion of Associated Data
You may delete your account directly within Sceneit.
To delete your account:
Settings → Delete Account
A. Information Deleted
When you delete your account, Sceneit deletes your personal information and user-generated data from its active application records, including:
- Username, name, and email address associated with your account.
- Your profile photo, if you added one.
- Your selected country.
- Your selected streaming services.
- Your diary entries and viewing history.
- Your ratings and reviews.
- Your favorites.
- Your watchlists and associated data.
- Your shared-watchlist memberships.
- Your pending invitations, whether sent or received.
- Other account-associated application data, subject to the exceptions described below.
The corresponding Clerk account is also deleted.
Sceneit also removes locally stored Home Screen widget information.
B. Watchlists You Own
When you delete your account, all watchlists you own are deleted, including watchlists shared with other users.
This deletion also removes titles added to those watchlists by collaborators.
Other collaborators lose access to those watchlists.
C. Watchlists Owned by Other Users
If you participate in a watchlist owned by someone else, deleting your account removes your membership from that watchlist.
Titles you previously added may remain in the other user's watchlist.
The application displays those contributions as “by Unknown” rather than displaying your name.
Under the currently documented implementation, surviving watchlist items may retain an internal reference to your former account ID.
This identifier is not displayed in the application's user interface, but it may remain associated with the contribution record. The same account ID is retained in your legal acceptance record during the six-year retention period.
D. Exception — Acceptance Records
Sceneit retains a limited record of your acceptance of its Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
After account deletion, this record contains:
- Your email address.
- Your account ID.
- The accepted document versions.
- The dates and times of acceptance.
- The account deletion timestamp.
Your name and username are not retained in this record after account deletion.
The record is marked as belonging to a deleted account.
It is retained for six years after account deletion, after which an automated daily process removes it.
This information is retained based on our legitimate interests in documenting agreement acceptance and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims, subject to applicable law.
E. Temporary Provider Retention
Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups, operational records, or security logs maintained by our service providers in accordance with their applicable retention practices.
If you have trouble deleting your account or have questions about your data, contact us at:

Sceneit does not use dedicated analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Sceneit does not send account information or personal viewing history to VPN affiliate partners.
However, embedded YouTube trailers may involve the collection of IP addresses, device information, cookies, and video playback information by Google.
These third-party data flows are described in Section 4 and may be subject to additional requirements under applicable privacy laws.
You may exercise applicable privacy rights by contacting bautista@wearlyapp.com.
11. Children's Privacy
Sceneit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Users must meet any higher minimum age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Sceneit, please contact:
12. Security
Sceneit uses Clerk for authentication and Convex for backend infrastructure and database services.
We seek to maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
The effectiveness of these safeguards depends in part on the application's technical implementation and access controls.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Sceneit records the version of the Privacy Policy accepted by each user and the date and time of acceptance.
